Ideal Northumberland Holiday Location

West Kyloe is an ideal location for a holiday in North Northumberland – a 600 acre beef, sheep and arable farm it incorporates part of the Kyloe Hills which provide excellent walks with panoramic views of the coast, Kyloe Woods, the Cheviot Hills and Scotland. We are 10 minutes drive from Lindisfarne (Holy Island).

North Northumberland is an area of outstanding natural beauty still little known to many people. Miles of beautiful heritage coastline boasting some of the finest sandy beaches anywhere and dotted with castles such as Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Dunstanburgh. Boats sail regularly during the summer months to the Farne Islands from nearby Seahouses offering visitors a close up view of thousands of sea birds and seals which live and breed on these rocky outcrops. If a boat trip does not appeal then Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is accessible by car over the causeway at low tide.

Old Mill Caravan Site

We will open from April 13th until September 30th 2024

A two acre 12 van touring site situated in a sunny secluded part of the farm overlooking the Mill pond.

The main area is level and there is a partly sloping area with the walled garden that accommodates four vans. There are several sites very suitable for motor homes. Tents are taken by arrangement.

The site has electric hook ups for 12 . There is a utility block with three w.c.’s. a shower room, a large wet room (both with electric showers), a dishwashing room and an information room. The site and facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.

There is a large communal room in the Mill Buildings available to all visitors. it has sofas, a large dining table and a variety of board games and a football table.

There are excellent walking areas around the site and extensive walks are in the surrounding hills. A map of the farm and further details are provided in the information room. Dogs are welcome under their owners supervision.

The site is open from mid April to the beginning of October and advanced booking is essential during the holiday periods. Please ring or email for available dates.

A location unrivalled in beauty & solitude

Visitors are welcome, and indeed are positively encouraged to explore and enjoy all the countryside surrounding the farm, foxes and roe deer are a relatively common sight together with many varieties of birds, depending on the season. We are within fifteen minutes drive of Northumberland National Park to the west, the Scottish border to the north and even closer to miles of uncrowded sandy beaches to the east. Nearby there are many good golf courses, an excellent horse riding centre and permit fishing on the River Till.The farm is one mile from the ‘St Cuthbert’s Walk’.

Further inland there are a wealth of historic homes open to the public including Alnwick Castle and the now famous Alnwick Garden, Cragside, Chillingham Castle, Floors Castle to mention but a few. Northumberland National Park and the Cheviot Hills offer wonderful opportunities to walk and explore wild, unspoilt country in comparative peace and solitude.
